Kenzi Coon, LCSW
Great to meet you!
As a queer-identifying therapist, I specialize in trauma therapy, and have a history of working in community mental health. I have experience working with a wide age range, immigrant and refugee populations, and the Queer community. I utilize a combination of EMDR, Somatic Processing, Internal Family Systems and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in my approach.
A bit about my approach to therapy
Personal Statement
Its a big step to decide to seek out support. All of us struggle with different aspects of our lives and therapy is a way to make sense of these struggles, past and present. My hope is that through this process, you can develop a better understanding of, and relationship with yourself. That may mean developing skills to manage emotions, improve communication or navigate interpersonal issues. That could mean building insight around family dynamics and experiences from the past that still cause pain. Maybe you notice things about yourself that you would like to improve upon. My role is to make space for what is important to you.
What you can expect from our first session
My goal is to work alongside each client within the modalities that feel most suitable to them. Therapy will look different for everyone, however, having a space that is open and understanding, creates room for growth. Sometimes people are unsure about their goals, and that's ok too! If you've read this far, you should reach out!
